Jolly Beach Resort Antigua has five restaurants on-site. The resort provides three meals daily, afternoon tea, and house-brand cocktails.
Hemispheres, with both indoor and outdoor dining, serves buffet breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. The casual Coconut Grill, a stand near the pool, serves burgers and fries next to the large fantasy pool.
The other three restaurants require reservations. Lydia's at Crab Hole Village is a pretty, open-air restaurant on the beach that specializes in seafood like grilled Antigua lobster or steamed calamari with coconut milk, ginger, and dumplings. Lydias hosts a buffet brunch on Sundays.
Utsav specializes in tasty Indian food including shrimp in coconut and spices, and ginger chicken. Ristorante Bocciolo is an Italian restaurant with entrees such as red snapper in tomato sauce with olives and capers and bouillabaisse made with lobster, shrimp, scallops, and mussels.
While all food is included, the restaurants impose an additional charge for certain dishes. For example, Ristorante Bocciolo charges a whopping $22 extra for entrees containing shrimp. There are substantial lines at the buffets at Hemisphere. With the exception of the Indian restaurant, Utsav, the food is barely edible. And as the old joke goes, the portions are small.
The resort has five bars including a swim-up bar in the fantasy pool near the Coconut Grill. All house-drinks are included, and premium wines are available at an extra charge. Tea, small sandwiches, and cookies are served on the patio behind the lobby every afternoon.
