What to Expect at Kingsbrae Arms:
Expect to be greeted warmly by host and co-owner Harry Chancey at the elegant, all-inclusive Kingsbrae Arms in St. Andrews, New Brunswick.
The only Relais & Châteaux member property in eastern Canada, Kingsbrae Arms adheres to the luxury hotel group's 5C's criteria: It assures guests they will find charm, character, courtesy, calm, and cuisine. And they do. After all, "kingsbrae" is Scottish for "top of the hill."

Guest Rooms at Kingsbrae Arms:
Fresh flowers scent the public spaces and lavish guest rooms at Kingsbrae Arms. There are only 10 rooms and suites, all individually furnished with antiques and other treasures. Ultra-romantic touches include fireplaces outlined with decorative tiles and balconies with heart-soaring views of Kingsbrae Gardens
and the bay. Exquisite textiles cover four-poster, canopy beds with down comforters. Bathrooms hallelujah! contain deep soaking tubs-for-two.
Dining at Kingsbrae Arms:
Prepare for an exceptional meal in a homelike atmosphere (as long as your home is an immaculately kept and delightfully decorated country house). The dining area is an extension of the living room, complete with baby grand piano.
Chef Marc Latulippe's dishes use fresh garden herbs and local bounty. Imaginative menus elevate Maritime seafood; picky eaters may cavil at elk or caribou delicacies. The inn holds the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence.
Weddings at Kingsbrae Arms:
The inn is equipped to host and cater small weddings. In warmer months, its landscaped backyard is a pretty backdrop.
A wedding party of up to 20 may book the entire inn. The all-inclusive "house party" rate provides full breakfasts, garden café or gourmet picnic lunches, dinners paired with fine wines, open bar, unlimited champagne, VIP Kingsbrae Garden passes, snacks, and passes to maritime activities and golf. Special requests for flowers, massage, foods, and cakes are accommodated.
Honeymoon at Kingsbrae Arms:
Intimate and totally romantic, Kingsbrae Arms is a lovely place to start married life. It's a beautiful setting with gorgeous accommodations, a scenic vista from your balcony, a deep bathtub for two, a fireplace, and imaginatively prepared food paired expertly with fine wines.
The Prelude to Romance package, available in the Spa Suite, provides Champagne, oysters,
and the services of a masseur whose treatments may enhance the senses.
Nearby Kingsbrae Arms:
Lush, 27-acre Kingsbrae Gardens
is steps away from the house. Or take a short walk into the small, quaint town of St. Andrews (it's 100 miles from Bar Harbor and lacks the crowds). Browse in the shops (we had a hard time deciding which scents from Garden by the Sea Soaps
we loved most), have an espresso overlooking the harbor, or head to the wharf for a day of kayaking or whale-watching.
Also close by: an aquarium and the Algonquin Links golf course. FDR's Campobello is a scenic drive away.
What Does Kingsbrae Arms Look Like?:
The house is decorated with Oriental rugs, sparkling chandeliers, original paintings, rich textiles, period antiques (don't miss the peach-mirrored Art-Deco console in the library discovered at a John Jacob Astor estate sale) and other serendipitous finds. Is Kingsbrae Arms Right for You?:
If you can afford to stay in a small, sophisticated (in the best sense of the word), unique inn that is more like a private country home and you prefer to pay one all-inclusive price for all meals and activities, you can't go wrong at Kingsbrae Arms. As Harry Chancey says, "There's no carbon copy of this."
