Amsterdam Marriott Hotel in a Nutshell:
The Amsterdam Marriott is a clean, efficient, well-located hotel close to public transportation, the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum. It stands across from a small park that is adjacent to a canal where visitors can board a cruise of the waterway.
Guest Rooms at the Amsterdam Marriott Hotel:
After a long flight, the modern (if a bit sterile) guest rooms at the Amsterdam Marriott, furnished with excellent beds and soft sheets, are balm to the traveler's body and soul. Designed more for business than pleasure, rooms are equipped with the basics -- air conditioning, a work desk, flatscreen TV, safe, minibar, good shower -- but not much more. There is a fee to access the Internet.
Facilities at the Amsterdam Marriott Hotel:
The Amsterdam Marriott Hotel contains two restaurants and a health club that is open 24 hours. It also has a large gift shop in the lobby, useful for those who need to grab a couple of souvenirs or send a few postcards before heading home.
Service at the Amsterdam Marriott Hotel:
Any hotel that accommodates early arrivals as soon as rooms are available -- rather than insisting guests wait till check-in time -- gets high marks in my book. And that's what the Amsterdam Marriott Hotel did for us. In addition, all staff we came into contact with -- from the bellman to the front desk to the concierge -- was consistently helpful and gracious.
