A welcoming place.

A graceful combination of old and new, Park Hyatt Istanbul Macka Palas opened in 2008 in a building that dates to 1922. Although it claims "palas" in its name, the structure was originally built to house diplomats working at the adjacent Italian embassy. When the Turkish capital moved to Ankara, the structure was converted to an apartment building that housed well-heeled citizens.

Renovated to harmoniously blend Art Deco architecture with state- of-the-art amenities, 90-room Park Hyatt Istanbul is located in the Nisantasi district, a fashionable part of modern Istanbul that's surrounded by stores from brands known the world over, including Chanel, Gucci, DVF, and Max Mara.

To enter, guests and visitors pass through a metal detector. Unless you set it off, doors then slide open to reveal a spacious lobby on one side, a long wine bar along the other, and the reception desk beyond them.
