What should every first-timer know?
Don't get frustrated if you don't find success right away. If you get too tired, it's better to try again another day than push yourself too far.

What separates the amateurs from the pros?
Balance, stability, ability to edge the ski across the wake properly, mental toughness.

In your personal opinion, where's the best resort or destination to practice the activity?
Many Sandals resorts offer waterskiing. While they may not be the best place to learn advanced skills, beginners would do fine.
