The Golden Nugget, set amidst the flash and swirl of neon in the Fremont Street Experience, is downtown Las Vegas' finest casino hotel and a winner of the AAA Four-Diamond Award.
Even from the outside, where squares of white granite inlaid with brass are embedded in the sidewalks surrounding the Golden Nugget, it's obvious this is no ordinary hotel. There is also a large parking lot conveniently located across from the side entrance of the Golden Nugget.
After checking in at the white-marble registration desk in the Golden Nugget lobby, guests can't help but notice the Golden Nugget outdoor swimming pool and whirlpool spa, visible from the lobby through a 50-foot wall of glass.
Overlooking the Golden Nugget pool terrace, the Spring Mountains, or the lights of the Las Vegas valley are the Golden Nugget's three towers holding guest rooms and suites. Golden Nugget rooms feature classic, neutral color schemes, marble floors, and new furnishings.
Especially romantic are the one- and two-bedroom luxury apartments in the Golden Nugget Spa Tower. A spiral staircase leads from each spacious living room to an intimate bedroom area. Floor-to-ceiling windows span the length of the room, providing Golden Nugget guests with a captivating view of Las Vegas sights.
For high rollers and friends of the casino, the Golden Nugget also has six penthouse suites, each individually designed and furnished with whirlpool baths and fully stocked wet bars.
The Biggest Gold Nugget You Can See in the World
The "Hand of Faith," known as the largest gold nugget on display in the world today, can be found at the Golden Nugget. Discovered near the Golden Triangle in Australia, this gold nugget weighs 27.2 kilograms and measures 46 centimeters long. The Hand of Faith was put on display at the Golden Nugget in 1981, where it currently resides with several other large golden nuggets near the grand entrance.
Fremont Street Experience
Just outside the Golden Nuggets door is the Fremont Street Experience, a $70 million entertainment attraction. Covered by a canopy of lights, the Fremont Street Experience features a celestial vault 90 feet tall with more than 540,000 watts of stereophonic sound and is equipped with 12.2 million computer programmed lights. The Fremont Street Experience promenade is one of the most electrifying entertainment destinations in America and a must-see attraction for Las Vegas visitors.
Golden Nugget, the Las Vegas Hotel Casino, had the distinction of being the location of the first Vegas reality-TV program. "The Casino," the unscripted FOX-TV drama set at the Golden Nugget, premiered on June 8, 2004.
