How stiff was the 2004 competition among hotels and resorts to win the prestigious AAA Five Diamond award?
More than 50,000 hotels and dining properties were evaluated by AAA in twelve months' time.
Yet only 82 fabulous resorts earned the highly coveted AAA Five Diamond rating for 2004. And of the nine new ones added to the list, five were flagged Ritz-Carlton hotels.
According to Michael Petrone, director, AAA Tourism Information Development, "The quality of service and facilities is very exacting for this level of achievement. We are convinced that these properties will exceed guest expectations, otherwise they would not have achieved a Five Diamond rating."
The AAA has judged these hotels across the USA, Canada, the Caribbean, and Mexico as the best in 2004:
