Mites, Bites, and Tights

Couples considering a nude beach vacation consult this site for info and recommendations on where to go to take it all off. But this question about nude beach etiquette stymied me:
I need a little sensible help. I get an unsightly allergic rash on my bottom and legs if I go on a beach — but I really like the beach and do not want to give it up. The other day I walked out on the beach in a thin dress and very thin sheer nude pantyhose and did not get a rash. So I have found the cure.

Here is my question: Can I just wear pantyhose on a nudist beach? Will it look funny, as I will not be totally nude, even though they are very sheer? Will I be OK and "legal?"

Think you know the answer? Help enlighten this reader (and me). Thanks!

Hi,
My name is Tom Mulhall. My wife and I own a nudist resort called The Terra Cotta Inn located in sunny Palm Springs, CA.

Wearing sheer panty hose at a nude beach would look funny. Now every nude beach is different. Some are privately owned and are nudity manditory. Others are public beaches, so no one cares.

My advise is to vacation at a clothing optional resort. Explain your medical situation to management. If they are a good resort like ours, management will be more concerned with you health situation.

You might feel more comfortable wearing a thin or sheer beach wrap over the pantyhose.

To me, being nude is being the same person but in a sensually charged ambience that is very pleasurable. Indeed I prefer being with my family and other sociable mixed gender naturists in clubs and resorts for all of our recreation or relaxation. My personal best was three weeks vacation at a resort in France, with everything except sandals put away for the entire duration. The strangeness of shirt and shorts to depart there was almost as strange as becoming a naturist many years before. As regards sex-life; being nude together promotes an appreciation of the pleasure that can be given one to another. At your first naturist experience, you may feel apprehensive and worried that people will be staring at you. But a visit to naturistmingle.com is much different than you would experience anywhere else. At there, you will not find people trying to undress you with their eyes, from afar or near, because there is nothing left for the imagination to remove. You will not find people throwing outdated, lewd or offensive pickup lines at you.

There aren’t many beaches in the USA where nudity is required. Because sheer tights may draw attention to themselves, if you have an allergy, wear what you wish. Why does any of that have to be transparent?

You may just prefer to be topfree.

I’m curious about the rash. If it’s from sand, you may be able to avoid a certain amount of it even if nude. If it’s from the sun, then the recommendation is fairly obvious.

It sounds like you may have some sort of an alergy to something in the sand or water.

As mentioned, most beaches in the US are public so no one will likely give you a hard time if you decide to wear only pantyhose. It certainly wouldn’t be the weirdest thing on the beach, although you will probably garner more stares than if you were totally nude.

I would probably take some sand and water and have it tested to see if there is some allergan that is causing the problem.

I wear pantyhose on regular beaches with 1 and 2 piece swimsuits. I see other females wearing them at times also. Tan hose look better than white legs. I never have had a problem. Good Luck.
