Woodstock 2009
If you're hoping in 2009 to attend a Woodstock Festival that commemorates the 40th anniversary of the August 15 to August 18, 1969 peace, love, and music gathering, check out the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts.
Although Jimi and Janis are gone; Santana and The Band, Jefferson Airplane and The Who have long since broken up; Van Morrison, Richie Havens, Arlo Guthrie and Bob Dylan keep on rockin' and a couple of them will be performing at this venue.
If you can't get there in 2009....and are a fan of peace, love, and music...
- Pay a virtual visit to Woodstock, NY — a laid-back, bucolic, bohemian town that hasn't changed much in 40 years.
- WatchWoodstock: Three Days of Peace & Music — check prices on the new DVD and Blu-ray Director's Cut 40th Anniversary Ultimate Collectors Edition.

Anyone going to the 8/15 Woodstock 40th in Bethel that went to the ‘69 event? Would like to arrange a “Class of ‘69″ tailgate party in the parking lot (”Woostock High?”).
Could trade tales – if we can remember!
“Rumor” has it that a gathering will be held in Bethel the weekend of Aug. 14-16
Any one in Toronto Ontartio area doing anything for our 40th anniversary??
Even meet somewhere for a beer . . .
But recently, early this month, that the whole thing would be called off.
Michael Lang said that he couldn’t get any sponsors, and that the September concert won’t happen (source: woodstockstory.com).
So I will be showing up at the property. they built an amputheater at the top of the hill and its all comercialized and sold tickets. But I will be gathering at the bottom of the hill where the old stage was and the monument is. Thats where the real party will be!!!!
Who wants to meet there?
