Hurricane Season Begins

Wednesday May 28, 2008
June 1 officially marks the beginning of hurricane season, which stretches until November 30. There have been predictions that it will be an active season in tropical areas this year.

Should you chance a honeymoon or romantic getaway to the Caribbean, Mexico, or southern U.S. during the season, when lower hotel rates make such a trip more affordable?

If the answer is yes, acquaint yourself with places that offer a hurricane guarantee and also see Laura Bly's informative USA Today article, "More Travel Firms Offer Hurricane Guarantees."

Bottom line when planning a honeymoon or any other travel during hurricane season: Read the fine print in any hurricane guarantee... well before the rain has a chance to wash it away.
