No More Monthly Periods?

The FDA has just approved Seasonale, an extended-cycle birth control pill women can take to reduce the number of times they menstruate to four a year. Approval came after only a year's study of 682 women. Is Seasonale safe? What are the long-term effects? Right now, no one knows. But for women who suffer from endometriosis or painful periods, it could be a real boon.
